Content & Social Media Assistant (Contract Position)

I’m looking for a creative, independent content creator to support my social media and educational content as I expand my online presence and launch a new YouTube channel focused on EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) courses and clinical demonstrations.

My work centers on trauma therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and therapist education. I create courses and trainings for clinicians and frequently produce longer teaching recordings and demonstration videos. This role involves helping transform those longer recordings into engaging short-form content and promotional materials.

This is a remote, flexible 1099 independent contractor role. Hours will vary depending on what content I am producing, and work will be project-based.

Some weeks may involve 5–10 hours of work, while other weeks may involve 1–3 hours, depending on current projects.

The ideal person for this role enjoys both content creation and editing, works well independently, and can bring creative ideas while also learning my voice and brand style.

Responsibilities may include

  • Editing longer teaching or demonstration videos for YouTube

  • Creating short-form clips for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok

  • Captioning and formatting educational video clips

  • Creating Canva graphics and ads to promote courses and trainings

  • Creating promotional content for Mailchimp email campaigns

  • Repurposing longer teaching material into social media content

  • Scheduling or assisting with social media posting

  • Occasionally suggesting creative ideas for video topics or social media posts

At times, you may also send prompts such as:

“Could you record a short video explaining ___ for a social clip?”

Important

This role is not intended for someone who is brand new to content creation.

I’m looking for someone who already enjoys creating and editing content and has developed some skills in this area.

I want to see examples of your work. Please be prepared to share links to social media accounts or other content you’ve created so I can see your style, pacing, and editing ability.

The content you share does not need to be therapy-related. I’m primarily interested in your ability to create and edit engaging content.

Ideal candidates

  • Comfortable editing video to create engaging short-form clips from longer recordings

  • Familiar with tools such as CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, Canva, or similar editing platforms

  • Able to create simple graphics or promotional visuals for courses and email campaigns

  • Able to work independently and manage projects without constant supervision

  • Enjoy bringing creative ideas while also incorporating feedback

  • Interested in learning my voice and brand style so content reflects my teaching accurately

While an early-career therapist or graduate student could be a great fit, this role is also open to coaches, bodyworkers, or others working in the mental health or healing space who enjoy content creation.

Working style

I’m neurodivergent and tend to communicate clinical concepts in a very specific and structured way. Early on, I may provide more detailed feedback as we establish a rhythm and ensure that content reflects my teaching style and brand.

Over time, the goal is to build a collaborative relationship where you can work independently while maintaining consistency with my voice and approach.

Benefits

  • Flexible remote work

  • Hourly contractor pay

  • Free access to all of my courses and trainings, including extensive teaching on EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and trauma treatment

My hope is that this role supports someone who wants to develop both their clinical understanding and their content creation skills.

Timing

The role will likely begin sometime in April or May 2026.
